Being seen

A few weeks ago I was asked to take headshots with a campus staff photographer and they did just that. They took some headshots.

But after talking with a photographer friend who knows me a bit better, we agreed that I needed headshots that better capture and convey who I am. So we took care of that.

This is me being seen and captured by Andrea Swanson of Andi Renee Studios, based in Elkhart, Indiana.

This is me showing who I am and really being me.

What was captured by the staff photographer was functional, but it didn’t have my personality.

The moral of the story is, go with a photographer that takes the time to get to know you. One that takes posing into consideration and not just glare.

No disrespect to the first photographer, but I was not happy. A lot of my friends showed plenty of kindness and voted for their favorites, but there is a distinct difference in the images above and the images below.
