Liz Georges, FDN-P (more on that later) and I met through a neighborhood Facebook group. She was intrigued by the combination of my status as a veteran who was also working (at the time) for a mental health organization, and she invited me to one of her well-run networking cocktail parties. We clicked well and she invited me to 1 Million Cups – Mishawaka where I got to present this September. We finally got to sit down and chat 1-on-1, and we both shared more and more about our own stories.

Liz takes it back to the age of 12 to start her sharing. She and her siblings moved in with their paternal grandparents. “Grandma was a health food nut with no trust for medications or the medical establishment. She taught us tons about the benefits of whole foods. She believed the right combinations of foods could cure any malady, and she was very healthy until the last few years of her life.
Working on eating well most of her life, Liz “really believed Grandma exaggerated the harm of sugar and processed chemicals. And while I always carried a few too many extra pounds, I always felt I was in above-average health but knew I could do better.”
After her son turned 11, she made the choice to enlist in the US Army and serve as an x-ray tech. After more experience as a civilian x-ray tech, she had her “first encounter with civilian primary medical care at age 35.” Admittedly, “by then, I’d successfully lowered my cholesterol through revising my diet and lifestyle, and I was astounded by the sheer volume of patients at our practice who were afflicted with diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, pain, and mental health disorders.”
Eventually, she came to the realization that advice from her whole foods, health-nut grandmother, along with her own “curious research and self-experimentation” not only served her well but also equipped her with a wealth of knowledge she could share. Additionally, “I also recognized that I needed to learn a lot more before I could apply my knowledge to certain populations.”
“At age 38, I earned my Bachelor of General Studies degree after a couple years attempting to research the link between nutrition and PTSD, which was largely unstudied at the time. Not finding the right role for myself in health care after graduation, I ended up selling luxury cars. It was fun but didn’t fulfill my passion for helping people, though I discovered I thoroughly enjoyed the 1:1 relationships I’d built with my clients. It then occurred to me I could combine my love of cultivating relationships and consulting with my passion for health, and just like that, I decided to quit my job, train to become a health coach, and start helping people heal their bodies naturally.”
“I’m now a certified Health & Life Coach, FDN-P Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, Level II Reiki Practitioner, Qigong for Healers Practitioner, Tai Chi Easy(™) Practice Leader, Dietary Supplement Specialist, and Mental Fitness Coach. When I’m not working with clients, I spend my time cultivating relationships throughout the community, as I believe our community ties play a huge role in staving off disease by reducing stress.”
And that brings us to today, where Liz Georges is the mastermind behind VibrantSoul Coaching, LLC. When asked about what she does, Liz describes it as such, “As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and Health & Mental Mastery Coach, I utilize intensive functional assessments to help my clients uncover and mitigate metabolic stressors contributing to their symptoms, then coach them through holistic lifestyle changes that allow them to find happiness and purpose, lose weight, relieve pain, increase energy, and reduce reliance on medications so they can enjoy their lives again. I’m a bridge between a health coach and a doctor, working in that gray area between health and disease, though I don’t diagnose or treat anything specifically.”
But what do Liz and VibrantSoul Coaching do differently than other businesses? What special sauce does Liz bring? “I am the special sauce, baby! LOL.”
“My programs are special because they really encompass the whole being – mind, body, and VibrantSoul.”

We don’t just focus on diet, rest, and exercise. My 6-month program begins with mental fitness – becoming aware of and learning to overcome our self-judgment and other emotional saboteurs while we’re waiting for the results of the client’s functional health assessments. Once we have the results, I educate them about how all the stressors in their life are affecting their unique metabolisms and how the changes they make will condition their bodies to heal naturally. I then coach them 1:1 through the process of learning their own bodies and changing habits, so the progress they achieve working with me doesn’t end at the end of 6 months – it’s designed to help them for a lifetime. My clients continue healing after our programs are complete, and they want to keep doing the things that make them feel best.”
“I share with my clients my own past and current struggles so they know it’s okay when they “slip” or aren’t perfect. I remind them of their goals and hold them accountable without judgment, allowing them to be completely open and authentic with me. I think that’s one of the things my clients appreciate most.”

What do you want people to leave with, knowing about you?
“I want you to know I genuinely care about people and I’d love to help strengthen communities – one happier, healthier, more at-peace person at a time. I want humanity to have as much love for one another as I do for all of humanity. I’ve spent 30+ years learning and experimenting with myself, figuring out which gifts I have to share with the world, and I’m finally in a place where I know my worth and what I bring to the table.”
“If a person is committed to healing their body and has ‘tried everything’ – already changed their diet, worked with a holistic healer, health coach, or personal trainer to feel better and it just isn’t working; if the doctor can’t find a reasonable diagnosis and is out of tests to run; if their health is deteriorating with no explanations and they’re afraid of not being able to enjoy life anymore, I’m the one to call.”
“I know my stuff! I’ve got over 30 years of formal and information education in the health space. There aren’t too many people doing what I do – functional health is truly a new frontier – but 100% of my full-program clients have improved their lives and achieved most of their health goals while working with me.”
